Bio
"In a closed society where everybody's guilty, the only crime is getting caught." - Kentucky native, Hunter Thompson.
If you find yourself accused of a crime, or you think you might be accused of a crime, then the best course of action is to retain a lawyer.
Why?
People who try to fix the problem themselves often do more damage to their lives and make any eventual defense harder to present.
Every person walking this earth has done something wrong. Every person walking this earth has done something worthy of praise. This includes the state and the police - everyone. You want a lawyer that will hold the state accountable for their mistakes in charging you. You want a lawyer that understands that we must resist judging a soul based on the worst mistake of their life. You want a lawyer that will fight hard, both against the state and for you.
I want to stand there with you, fight for you and set you on the path for a bright future.
For more than a decade, I practiced in Commonwealth's criminal justice system, including district court, circuit court, the Kentucky Court of Appeals and the Kentucky Supreme Court. In that capacity I have zealously represented clients against the state in nearly every form available. I have handled cases ranging from those that carried fines to cases that carried the ultimate sentences. My clients have the successful results to show it. I am happily the ardent fighter for my client's rights.
My zealousness is based on understanding. Sometimes clients need help - help because they were wrongfully charged. Sometimes clients need treatment. Sometimes clients need a different solution - a solution based on their individual needs. I devoted a large part of my career to finding the best ways to serve my clients. I proudly served on the Board of Directors of NAMI Lexington. I authored the regulations for the Fayette County Mental Health Court. I always seek to bring new and evidence-based solutions to the individual client. Justice is not a "one size fits all" endeavor.
No matter your circumstances, no matter the issue, I welcome talking with you about your situation and advocating for a solution that works for you.
